   We booked Ollie to replace my elderly disabled neighbour’s roof, as it needed a full replacement due to serious bowing at both the front and back. Because of the scale of the work, we had around 10 roofing companies come out to quote. We wanted to make sure she wasn’t being overcharged or taken advantage of, but also didn’t want to risk going with someone cheap who might cut corners. This was realistically the only time she’d be able to have this done, so it was important it was done properly and wouldn’t need worrying about again. Ollie was the last roofer we spoke to, and if I’m honest, I nearly didn’t arrange for him to come out because by that point we were exhausted from speaking to so many companies. But after messaging him and finding him polite and professional, I thought one last quote wouldn’t hurt. He arrived on time and straight away came across as knowledgeable, approachable, and clearly experienced. During our conversation it was obvious he understood exactly what needed doing and explained everything clearly. After narrowing it down to two companies and doing our research, we chose Ollie. One of the biggest deciding factors was how detailed his quote was compared to everyone else’s. He was the only one who broke everything down properly, including timber grades, sizes, and exactly what work would be carried out, which gave us confidence. Ollie estimated around four days for completion, which seemed impressive considering the size of the job. We arranged an approximate start date, giving ourselves time to clear years’ worth of belongings from the loft. We did push the date back by a week, which worked better for everyone. There was an initial delay with the scaffolding due to the scaffolding company not arranging the required street licence. This wasn’t Ollie’s fault, but it did delay things by a couple of weeks. Communication here could have been a little better, mainly because my neighbour was understandably nervous after paying the deposit and hearing horror stories about rogue roofers. Once the scaffolding was sorted, the team got started stripping the roof. They worked incredibly hard and we were impressed with how quickly it came off. Once removed, it became even clearer just how bad the bowing had been. The roof itself took around five working days in total, which is impressive. The only frustration was that these days were spread across around three and a half weeks rather than being consecutive, which we had assumed would be the case. This caused some anxiety for my neighbour, especially when there were occasional days we expected the team back but plans changed without notice or communication. We understand roofing companies often juggle multiple jobs, but clearer communication throughout the project would have made a big difference — especially for an elderly customer making such a large investment. Building Control inspected the work as required and confirmed they were happy it met regulations, both externally and internally in the loft. Overall, Ollie and his team have been lovely, professional, and hardworking throughout. When on site they worked non-stop and the quality of the workmanship speaks for itself. My only suggestion for improvement would be communication — just keeping customers updated on when work will or won’t be happening to reduce unnecessary worry. That said, my neighbour is very happy with the finished roof and relieved that such a major concern has now been dealt with properly. It’s a huge weight off her shoulders.

   Excellent service from start to finish. My nan needed a small roofing repair, and they managed to fit the job in quickly between other work to get it sorted before it became a bigger issue and potentially caused a dispute with a neighbour. They repaired two slate roof tiles and fixed a drainpipe, carrying out the work to a very high standard. Communication was excellent throughout, keeping us informed every step of the way. What really stood out was how kind, respectful, and patient they were with my elderly nan, making her feel comfortable and reassured throughout the process. It’s rare to find tradespeople who combine such professionalism with genuine care for their customers. Highly recommended – a brilliant job, great communication, and outstanding customer service.

   OJ Roofing and Carpentry recently completed a full slate reroof on my property, along with installing a new skylight and removing an old chimney, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, Ollie and his team were absolutely brilliant. They worked incredibly hard every day, kept everything tidy, and showed real attention to detail throughout the project. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding the new slate roof looks fantastic, and the skylight has made a huge difference.    We hired Oliver to replace the lead around our chimneys and the flat roof on our dormer. The communication was great since the beginning, with Oliver coming out quickly to price the job. The estimate was sent out shortly after by email with a clear breakdown of the costs, which were very reasonable. The work was carried out efficiently and at a great standard and we're really pleased with it.    Ollie from OJ Roofing took on our project to completely re-roof our large Victorian ( ex vicarage) right from our first meeting I felt Ollie was the man for the job. His attention and care throughout the whole project has been second to none. The project was by no means an easy job, a large roof with hips and valleys including two flat areas between the hips. Ollie fitted a dry ridge system which has been excellent and whilst keeping us dry allows the loft space of an old property to breath adequately. Ollie and his team worked hard to strip the old roof as it was sprayed internally with a closed cell foam product. The guys stripped and replace the whole roof fitting new lead valleys and ridges along the way. I also requested Ollie sand down and repair any old or damaged facias and repaint with Zissner one coat exterior paint. Ollie finished of the job by replacing all the down pipes, colour coded to meet our needs. Ollie has been excellent throughout the process and I would have no problems in recommending him to others should they need his services.
