Homeowners

We use your job details to find suitable local tradespeople, run your account, and keep the marketplace safe. Your name, phone number, email, full postcode and address stay private until you choose to share contact details with a selected tradesperson.

Trade business listings

Tradies Local has free directory listings for local trade businesses. We create each listing from information the business already makes public: its Google Business Profile (business name, trade, area, phone number, rating and reviews) and the business email address published on its own website. Until the owner claims it, a listing may be shown to local homeowners marked “Not yet verified”.

We may email that public business address to invite the owner to claim or update the listing. These emails follow the same rules as our opportunity messages below: limited companies and LLPs may be contacted on a legitimate-interests basis, and sole traders, partnerships and unclassified businesses only with recorded consent or a member opt-in. If we are not sure which applies, we treat the contact as an individual.

We store:

• the listing details above, to show the business to local homeowners and to run claiming and verification (a one-time code sent to the listed phone or email);
• whether the listing has been claimed or verified; and
• if a business unsubscribes or asks us to stop, a suppression record so we do not contact it again.

Stop emails or remove a listing

• Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.
• Reply to any of our emails with a word such as remove, no thanks or stop.
• Email admin@tradieslocal.co.uk and tell us whether you want us to stop emailing you, remove your listing, or both.

We action do-not-contact and removal requests the same day where practical. A removed listing is taken down from Tradies Local.

Trade businesses and opportunity messages

If we email or text a business about a nearby homeowner request, that message is optional direct marketing of a local opportunity. It contains only the trade, a broad area (outward postcode), a secure link and how to opt out. It does not include the homeowner's name, phone, email, address or full postcode.

Limited companies and LLPs may be contacted on a legitimate-interests basis. Sole traders, partnerships and unclassified businesses are only emailed or texted with recorded consent or a member opt-in. If we are not sure which applies, we treat the contact as an individual.

You can object at any time. Reply STOP to an opportunity text, use the form below, or email admin@tradieslocal.co.uk. We keep a suppression record so we do not contact you again.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, object to direct marketing, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
