Checked stock availability before setting off on a 30 mile trip. When I got to the store some items were not available..... disappointing.

"4 Years of Hell, & ongoing". How long does it take to fit a kitchen properly? - still waiting. I paid Wickes in 2021 for them to fit my kitchen & utility room, & I'm still waiting for it to be finished, by a 3rd Wickes approved installer. On 30th September 2024 the 1st installation was eventually (after 2 year & 6 months) ripped out & refitted again for a second time by Wickes installers. Endorsed by the Ombudsman due to how badly it had been fitted 1st time round in March 2022 in only 9 days. It had to be completely re plastered, re tiled & re fitted with new cupboards, & the previous appliances fitted back. This time it was fitted over 3 weeks to give a week for the plaster to dry (instead of less than 24 hours as previous, before fitting wooden cupboards). Now Wickes has had 2 attempts to install my kitchen & utility room, I feel so very very let down. -The floor and wall tiling has not been done to trading standards (again), disappointed that my utility room sink has not been fitted back in the same place as previous, electric socket not fitted back properly, wall and floor cupboards carcasses & surrounds not level & gaps along inside edge & areas not sealed down properly, skirting board cut into with radiator pipes not secure to wall properly, door frame ripped off before plastering & re fitted back cracked, cheap thin plastic main water supply pipework (installed instead of the original copper) with stop tap too small, plus more issues. We paid over 20 thousand for this, & it is still not right. It's gone 4 years now from 1st bodge installation, & 1 year 6 months from 2nd bodge installation, overall I've sent Wickes hundreds of emails, plus hundreds of photos & videos from compaints about 1st installation & complaints about 2nd installation, & have always felt fobbed off when eventually they email back. - Still waiting to know what they intend to do to sort out all the issues from this 2nd installation. Wickes say they struggled for months to locate another installer saying- 'unfortunately this is proving more difficult than usual as there is a shortage of installers in the area & they are having to look further afield '. However they did find 1 that they have used before, that doesn't live far away at all. They sent around a 3rd installer 4 months ago for site visit to see what needs doing, who seems very nice and keen to do a good job, who could have done it by now - March 2026. But Wickes were not happy him saying our kitchen & utility room needs a full re fit. So Wickes told the installer he had to come back again.- And he did last month, to do a list of materials needed for what Wickes is prepared to do. Wickes has still not shared with us a list of work that They propose to do, & when, (despite my repeat emails to them). So we Still Have No Date as to when or what year our kitchen & utility room will be finished. This kitchen installation (my husband & I picked in 2021) was meant to have made me happy, after undergoing many years of cancer treatment. But It's been immensely stressful for over 4 years so far. The excessively long waiting times to receive emails back, & huge delays (of years) Wickes are deliberately taking to try not to resolve issues is disgusting. My advice to others is, (although the staff seem nice in the shop,) avoid this company for kitchen installations, as the service is not fit for purpose. And Customer Relations is just there to fob the customer off until they give up.

Popped into Wickes for one item and, as tradition dictates, left with several things I didn???t know I needed and a sudden urge to start multiple DIY projects. The store was well laid out, stock was easy to find, and there were actually staff around who knew what they were talking about ??? which is dangerous when you only came in for screws and walk out planning a full home renovation. Good quality materials, decent prices, and everything feels geared towards real people doing real DIY (not just professionals who already know what they???re doing). Checkout was quick and painless, which I appreciated given my rapidly growing trolley. Will I be back? Yes. Will I still pretend this was a ???quick trip???? Also yes. Highly recommend.

The store itself is your usual Wickes, friendly staff and has all the pipes, timber, paint and cement that you expect from Wickes. Whenever I've been to Carlisle Wickes in the evening it's been quiet, I've been the only customer. The store entrance is not very well advertised, and it's quite hidden away, you wouldn't really know it's there unless you specifically looked it up on Google Maps. The first time I went there I went around the block twice to find it because a lorry was parked near the entrance, and also there are a lot of over grown bushes which make the building hard to find from inside a small car.

Bought a kitchen 3 years ago still not installed properly, had one refit and still couldn't install right, spent a lot of money on this kitchen, complained about it but Wickes didn't care, still on going very disgusted with Wickes they just don't care, Wickes products are good it's just the installation of it,just a bunch of cowboy's, some of the problems have been sorted out but not all, my wive is just heart broken,
