I would not recommend this company. They have refused to act various emergency repair requirements during our subscription - leaking tap (apparently not an emergency and should have reported sooner); leaking radiator valve (apparently not covered as it???s in the bathroom and has a towel rail fitted therefore not standard); flushing mechanism on toilet (apparently not an emergency and should have reported sooner); Boiler thermostat (should have reported sooner). So I cancelled my subscription and arranged for repairs through another company. Despite cancelling, they have continued to charge my direct debit (even though I have reminded them to cancel twice via email. We are now back with British Gas who have been great over the years

Great, engineer called me 15 minutes before he arrived to let me know when he'd be there. Arrived on time, very polite got straight to work. Once he'd finished he let me know that there were no problems, got me to sign the certificate and left me with my copy.

Don't waste your money with this company! Our toilet started to drip into the bowl. I logged a fault online but they wouldn't send a plumber as their t&c's don't cover concealed units. Yes, our toilet is in a unit but the cistern and flush valve are both accessible. I sent photo's to Openfix showing it's accessible but they still wouldn't budge on their decision that concealed units are not covered. They should have some leeway to send a plumber to come out and assess it, especially having access to back/top of the toilet. I would think most people's toilets in this day and age have moved with the modern times and have them built in and therefore the majority wouldn't be able to get a repair done with this company. A policy that isn't fit for purpose in these modern times! Luckily I don't have much longer left on my contract and I certainly won't be renewing!

Prior to Openfix???s engineer's attendance: ??? The boiler was providing both heating and hot water. ??? The system was operational. ??? There were no visible water leaks from the magnetic filter or elsewhere. Following the completion of the service and the engineer's departure: ??? I had no heating or hot water. ??? Water was leaking from fittings. I subsequently contacted OpenFix seeking assurance that the engineer would return to rectify the issues that arose immediately following the service visit. Instead, I was advised that I would need to submit a repair request online. That request was later rejected. Response from Jessica H: Unfortunately, we???ve been unable to approve your recent request for a home repair visit due to the following reason(s): During your annual boiler service, our engineer found a leak from the magnetic filter connection and a failed expansion vessel, which is no longer holding pressure. This has caused the system to lose pressure and stop working correctly. While these issues were identified during the service visit, they are classed as repairs due to component failure and wear and tear. Under the OpenFix Service Agreement, routine servicing is covered, but maintenance repairs and replacement of failed parts are not. Unfortunately, the required repairs are therefore not covered by your open fix agreement We take great pride in the quality of our service, and we regret that we are unable to support you on this occasion. Best regards, OpenFix I disputed the suggestion that the leak from the magnetic filter connection was merely "found" during the service. No leak existed before the engineer attended. It only became apparent after the service had been completed, indicating that it was either caused during the service or resulted from work undertaken during the visit. Regardless of the systems condition, the fact remains that the heating and hot water were functioning before Openfix???s engineer's attendance and were not functioning afterwards. From my perspective: The system was left in a worse condition than it was before the service. A leak appeared following the engineer's work. Heating and hot water were lost immediately after the service visit. OpenFix have declined to investigate the possibility that the issues were caused by, or arose during, the service visit. I requested the service report and was told it would be issued however all I received was the above automated response. Very impressed with the service from openfix. Setting up an account and booking a boiler service/gas safety check was straightforward. The engineer who was assigned to the job communicated well, turned up as expected and carried out a thorough inspection. A fault was found with the meter regulator and the engineer arranged for gas company to attend. All fixed in less than one hour. Job details and safety certificate visible in account by next morning. Fantastic service at a very reasonable cost. Would highly recommend!
