Very happy with the work by Alan and his team The job was made much more difficult by the recent extreme hot weather and also an unusual issue with mites biting away at them throughout the job too! However, they pushed onwards as much as possible and maintained good communication, as well as a pleasant and friendly attitude There were some moments of stress as the job wore on, accentuated by the tough working circumstances, but these were short lived and always apologised for in a timely manner The team always took great pride in their work and ensured the job was done thoroughly and well. They even corrected various unforeseen issues proactively and without fuss There was a confusion near the end, as to whether replacing the down pipes and not just the gutters would be included in the job (I genuinely thought this had been the case, but it hadn’t been included in the quote). So I was really thankful that this was ultimately carried out at no additional cost to me as a gesture of goodwill The scope of the job included improving the ventilation of the roof, fixing and better securing the areas around the dormer window, making good all the fascia and soffits and replacing all gutters (and down pipes!). Plus a sand down and repaint of the Tudor-effect black beams and white in between panels. Scaffolding was also required at the front and back of the house, which was put up promptly and removed within a couple of days of the job finishing There was also plenty of other aspects improved and made good, which were all explained to me as the work was being carried out. To be honest, I didn’t always understand everything at first, but by the end of the job I feel I can now just about talk the language of “roofing” going forward! In summary a really good company to put your trust in to do a good job at a good price with a good attitude and good approach!! Thank you again AGL Roofing, and wishing you all the best :)

The challenge with reviewing trades is that it is uncertain the true quality of workmanship for years to come such as in the case of a roof which should last 15-20years+ however I must say there are certain characteristics I noted with Alan, AGL Roofing. Firstly, his exceptional communication, he always messages, calls back and has kept me updated. He was willing to explain and answer any questions. At no point did he present as unwilling to explain which is rare when dealing with trades (being a female having experienced much cockiness and dismissive behaviour/communication from traders). The job spec changed however the possibility of this was explained prior to commencing and I was informed immediately of what was needed, how it'd be done, cost implications. I visited (unannounced) and Alan invited me up the ladder (which I would've done anyway) demonstrating his openess and willingness to explain and evidence the work him and his team were undertaking. What I observed was very organised, tidy workmanship with an attention to detail. I was around on a 2nd occasion again unnannouced and once again I could see them working together, methodically and meticulously. I await my insurance backed paperwork and I hope I am not mistaken in my confidence that this roof will last the 15-20years+ that it should, based on my observations and experience of AGL Roofing. Additionally, I find Alan to have an impressive work ethic, and someone who operates with respect and integrity. I would consider him/his company should we or any of our clients require any roofing repairs or replacements.

We asked Alan to quote to sort various issues with our roof, his quote was competitive and delivered promptly, unlike others we requested. We are delighted with the work he did, which included installing new lead and cladding around our dormers and bird proofing and repairing other parts of the roof. His communication was great, he explained each part of the work as he went along, he turned up on time and when extra work was required made time to get this sorted and kept cost as low as possible, I'd highly recommend him if you need any work done on your roof.

I have found AGL Roofing Ltd online and had the pleasure meeting Alan and his work colleague. He has responded my call straight away which was great. We had a lot of overgrown green on the top of our flat roof that needed to be checked and removed. Alan kindly offered a free physical check and quotation so he come out to do this promptly as arranged with him. Luckily there was no damage to the roof from the green that can often grow underneath the felt roof so we agreed on a day to come and clean it and they did a great job. Showed us photos before and after. He also cut back the overflow pipes which were causing the dampness on the roof and also fitted in a new fascia board and a new gutter on the side of the wall near the roof as the old gutter was far too close to the wall and the green was growing in the old gutter as well previously. On this day I asked Alan to check the other flat roof which was an old flat roof above our bathroom as it looked well old cracked and he has recommended to get a full replacement roof with new gutters also offered to put fascia cover on the existing fascia boards. Following the affordable quotes and agreed date he promptly turned up with his colleague and they spent a day and completed the replacement. They also taken away all of the old materials for recycling. They both were very friendly and polite all the way through and did an excellent job! I have to mention that unfortunately I was tested positive for Covid on this day and let Alan know that morning if he preferred to come out another day but he was very kind and agreed to do the job and we both kept far distance from each other and I was in quarantine inside my home while they complicated the roofing work outside of our house. Almost 2.5 years on the new roof is staying strong no leaking or any problem and we all know time can only tell with roofing if a job is well done. I would be more than to recommend Alan and his work colleague if you would like a friendly reliable and affordable service! We are very happy with AGL Roofing Ltd service and complicated job and would be happy to contact Alan again in the future if a roofing job is required. Before and after photos are attached. Water was coming in through the roof and as I used AGL many years ago I contacted them again. Alan came round and quickly identified the problem. He temporarily sealed the area around the soil pipe. The job was then scheduled. The area around the soil pipe was stripped out, defective felt removed and new felt battened in place. A new soil pipe cover which was made by Alan was installed and tiled into place. Alan kept me informed all through the process, from first contact and even after the job was completed. Alan and Wes did a great job and I would thoroughly recommend AGL Roofing.
