Horizon roofing ,installed a brand new tiled roof,on my property,2 years ago this month. After the storms earlier this year, i noticed that tiles had fallen loose,& were lying in my guttering. I contacted Horizon,on several occasions, who promised they would come,& rectify the problem out. After a no show from Horizon,i decided to contact Gilesgate Roofing,to fix the problem for me. They informed me that Horizon, had used the wrong plastic between my house & the next door neighbours. This had resulted in the winds getting underneath the tiles,& lifting them off. I am now going to have to get the right plastic installed,or else my tiles, will continue to come loose. Thanks Horizon Roofing

While positive reviews can often reassure, they are unfortunately not always a reflection of consistent quality or reliability. Despite thoroughly researching and initially feeling confident in Horizon, I have experienced significant disappointment. Last year, I hired Horizon for two jobs. The first—fascia replacement—seemed to go reasonably well. James and his team were polite and approachable, and the job appeared to be done to a decent standard. However, things took a turn with the second job, a roof replacement. Shortly after the work was completed and promptly paid for, I began noticing several issues. As the work came with a 10-year guarantee, I asked to have these problems addressed. A year later, despite countless scheduled visits where he never once showed up, over a hundred texts, and endless excuses, none of the issues have been resolved. The problems include: • Poorly aligned tiling • Several dips across the front rows of tiles • Missing eve end caps • Flashing coming away on two Velux windows • Incomplete and poorly replaced bird mesh on my solar panels, which is now ineffective due to missing sections Additionally, when I followed up about the arranged visits, James’ responses became defensive, filled with excuses, and occasionally rude and aggressive. Despite giving him ample time and opportunities to uphold his guarantee, I’ve been left with no choice but to hire another contractor to fix the substandard work. I regret choosing Horizon and would not recommend them. Although I promptly paid in full for the completed work, I am now facing extra costs to rectify their mistakes. Sadly, Horizon has not honoured their commitments, and I advise others to think twice before hiring them.

So happy! So impressed and will defiantly use again in the future with other houses! James kept us updated and always answered any questions, very quickly by phone. We brought a house to rent out and discovered lots of holes in the roof. Not being from the area, I checked on check a trade and looked for roofers in the area who were reliable and accurate with their quotes. From these I had 2 companies that I liked the look of, James from Horizon Roofing being one of them. James replied instantly, and was able to offer a quote based on the photos I sent and talk me through the work that I wanted to be done. I did contact a few others some of whom replied but James was the cheapest, replied to all my messages quickly, and from speaking to him felt he was very knowledgeable in roofing and a nice, honest person. If you don’t want to be ripped off, and need your roof done, use James. He’s quote was 100% accurate and he is reliable, keeps you updated and instantly replies to messages!
