We are absolutely delighted with our new two-storey local stone-built extension, by David and his team at Smartbuild. From the very beginning, David showed incredible attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality. Every part of the build was completed to an exceptionally high standard, and his communication throughout the project was excellent—clear, timely, and reassuring. David’s strong relationships with the various tradespeople involved meant that everything ran smoothly and efficiently. It was clear that he takes great pride in his work and ensures that everyone on site does the same. Thanks to David and Smartbuild, we now have a stunning new space that feels like home. We couldn’t be more pleased and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled, reliable, and professional builder.

David and his team undertook a full renovation project and extension of our house in 2024 and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Our whole experience on the project was excellent. The communication with David and his team throughout the project was good. He kept us informed every step of the way, making sure we were aware of upcoming decisions, at each stage of the renovation. He was always available to answer questions, provide updates, and discuss any changes or ideas. The attention to detail demonstrated by his team was truly impressive. We felt two members of his team Kelvin and Wayne went above and beyond their roles which we really appreciated. The project was completed on time and on budget. There were no unexpected costs or surprises. The transparency and professionalism David displayed were reassuring. We highly recommend using David Buck and his team at Smart Build Services and Development Ltd.

David and his team extended and renovated our house in 2021. Our project was a kitchen extension and downstairs remodel, back garden groundwork’s prep for a garden room and also upstairs remodel and renovation. Pretty much every room in the house has changed, and we are really happy with the results and quality of the craftsmanship and care given to the work. In particular, Andy and Glenn, who did the ground works, bricklaying and patio for the extension were brilliant working in pretty harsh conditions in Jan 2021. Overall the project took 6 months end to end and David kept communication up at all times, keeping us abreast with any issues and gave a very accurate build schedule that went very close to plan, even with the global supply issues that began that year. We highly recommend his services, and would use his services again for future work.

I have only good things to say about Smartbuild. The workmanship and finish were exemplary. They came in on budget and nothing was too much trouble for David and his team.

More than happy to recommend Smart Build (and David himself). A terrifying prospect of knocking through our kitchen and remodelling into a kitchen diner was made as easy as it could be by David and his team. David kept in touch throughout the project and was always available to visit the site at times that worked for me. When the inevitable unexpected things arose (as they surely will with projects like this) he was on hand to sort things out, could tap into a team skillset for whatever arose (from TV Aerials to Wood Burner fitting!), and ultimately keep things moving. Price and timescale wise he was pretty much spot on so expectations were clear on all sides, and no nasty surprises at the end. Totally happy with the finished result and would not hesitate to recommend or use Smart Build again.
