We had a single-storey extension built by Charlton Design & Build Ltd, and honestly, Jay and his crew were fantastic from start to finish. The whole team was super responsive — always quick to get back to us and happy to answer any questions we had along the way. They all worked at an impressive pace without ever cutting corners. The quality of the work was consistently excellent, and you could tell they really cared about getting things right. One thing that really stood out was how they were always on time — every single day — which made the whole process feel smooth and stress-free. While the build was going on, the site was always kept clean and organised, which made a big difference to us. We’re very happy with the result and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jay and his company to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality builders who are a pleasure to work with.

We’ve recently completed a year-long renovation with Charlton Design and Build, and while the project turned out to be far more complex than expected, we couldn’t be more grateful that Jay and his team were the ones guiding us through it. What began as a straightforward job uncovered numerous hidden issues, but the team handled each challenge with integrity, professionalism, and real attention to detail. What stood out most was their genuine care for doing things properly — not just meeting expectations, but consistently striving for the highest standard in every aspect of the work. Jay and his team were a pleasure to work with: reliable, communicative, and clearly proud of what they do. We trusted them completely, and the finished result is something we’re genuinely proud of — a testament to their hard work and commitment. We’re truly thankful to Charlton Design and Build and to all of their sub contractors for turning a demanding project into a result we now appreciate every day. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend all of them, to anyone looking for a team that combines skill, professionalism, and pride in delivering quality work. Thank you for everything Jay and the team.

Jay and his team have completed multiple projects for us since 2021, the latest being a simple brick wall and gate. Their attention to detail is outstanding, as is their meticulous selection of materials to a make a project fit in with its surroundings in a tasteful way. In the case of our brick wall, we had the choice of a fence or something more in keeping with the rest of the property, and we opted to go with something which would go the distance but not blow the budget. Jay helped us select some bricks that will weather over time, rather than more expensive reclaimed ones, but underpinned them with engineering bricks which won't be seen in the final landscaped area. Jay also helped us select an aluminium gate and worked with our regular electrician to ensure that the area is well lit and looks great at night. As well as being competitive on price, Jay was able to help us through all of the micro-decisions that occur during a project (even a small project like this), giving us options to choose between and his recommendations. In our case, this was a creative solution to ensure the height of the solider line of bricks matches the existing wall, even though the bricks of a different size to the existing wall. This resulted in a cunning use of a row of roof tiles to match the heights and create a feature in the wall. Overall, Charlton Design is highly recommended in terms of their knowledge, expertise, ease of working with and dedication to getting the projects we've done with them delivered on time and to budget. We only hope you can secure their services as they seem to be in demand!

Absolutely incredible. I very rarely leave reviews, but Jay and his team completely deserve one. From start to finish, the process has been seamless. From the initial quotation, all the way through to the end, Jay has been informative, professional and quick to respond to any questions. His team were all very professional, always left the site clean and tidy and have completed the work to an extremely high standard. The work has run to schedule, despite extra work being carried out and we couldn’t be more pleased. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Jay and his team to anyone who needs work doing. Thanks again guys!
