If there had been a zero rating for Harron Homes, that would have been my review. I strongly advise you to steer clear of them due to their inflated prices and ratings. Beneath all those falsehoods lies a group of crooks who are merely looking to get you to pay up and move in, only to move on to the next vulnerable individual once you are settled. I bought my house and moved in December 2024, and during the inspection, we discovered a significant issue with the main bathroom. We notified them right away, and they instructed us not to use it, assuring us it would be addressed promptly. However, all I have received are lies and blame-shifting between customer service and site managers. It has now been 15 MONTHS, and we still cannot use our family bathroom, leaving my entire family of five to rely on our en-suite. I have called, emailed, and expressed my frustrations, yet all I hear is apologies for the delay and that they are looking into it. Another excuse they frequently use is, 'Sorry, some people left the business, which could be the reason for the delay.' I am currently seeking legal counsel, and my bathroom is not the only problem. There are numerous defects in my house that have been overlooked. All they care about is getting that money in the bank, leaving you with unresolved issues. If you want to avoid a disaster, save yourself the trouble and find a better builder. AVOID, AVOID, AND AVOID!!!! All the customers at my site, RIVERDALE PARK DONCASTER, are facing issues, some of which have persisted for over two years. AVOID them and protect your money for a more reliable builder. When I bought at Riverdale Park, I was repeatedly told I was purchasing a “freehold” property. The reality only hit after reservation—when it was too late and I had already paid my fee—that I was trapped in a fleecehold. Harron Homes hid critical details: a management company they control sets unlimited charges for the estate, can change the rules whenever they like, and can block you from selling your home unless they sign off and all their demands are met—no matter how unfair. Gordons LLP failed me entirely—they never warned about fleecehold, never challenged these harmful contract terms, and acted more like the builder’s agent than my own. I felt cornered and misled at every turn. The whole process left me stressed, out of pocket, and extremely angry. My advice: Do not trust Harron Homes’ “freehold” marketing and avoid their recommended solicitors. Save yourself the hardship and learn from my experience—fleecehold is a nightmare I would not wish on anyone.

1 star is too generous! I strongly advise buyers to avoid Harron Homes. My experience at Riverdale Park was deeply disappointing and costly. Properties were marketed as “freehold,” but after reserving and paying a fee, I discovered restrictive “FEECEHOLD” clauses. Buyers are saddled with unpredictable estate charges set by a developer-controlled management company, unlimited rule changes, and even resale blocks unless all fees (sometimes disputed) are paid in full. Residents have no say in how the estate is run. Many—myself included—were pressured to pay fees before the contractually agreed time and sent threatening letters. Harron routinely withholds 50% of reservation fees as “admin costs” yet refuses to justify with any evidence, violating the Consumer Code for Home Builders and UK law. I was steered towards their “panel” solicitors (Gordons LLP), who failed to highlight these risks, creating a conflict of interest and leaving me without independent advice. The developer’s practices are misleading and constitute misrepresentation - BUYER BEWARE!!!!

This site boasts some amazing homes, exceptionally well built and designed with the added touches of attention to detail you dont find on regular sites. Annette the lovely sales lady took us on a visit to a couple of plots and went the extra mile with her care, expertise and professionalism and wouldnt hesitate to highly recommend.
