Worst possible customer service, don’t keep appointments, no regard for private property, shoddy and shady practices.

We were the first family to move into this estate in 2021 . Yes we have had some issues but tell me a builder who doesn’t. The houses are very individual and well designed . Each house type is very distinctive and excellent value for money . This is a fantastic friendly estate and we’ve made great friends with many group parties in the courtyards ! Don’t be put off by negative reviews, some people just love to moan

This review is just to give a shout out to Adele in the Marketing Suite at Sweetbriars Park in Darlington. My partner initially reserved with Adele on the first day he met her and he was very impressed with the way she had dealt with him on his first visit to the Marketing Suite. He had visited other Developers in the area that day, spoke to the sales staff at the marketing suites, but did not have a good first impression like the one he had on first meeting Adele who was representing Gentoo. The following week we both returned to site to make colour choices and generally firm up other bits we needed to complete. Adele gave us the time to complete the process without any pressure and was very understanding of the whole process from the customers point of view. Just having the time to make the choices without added pressure meant a lot and we even changed some at the last minute. She was on hand to give her professional honest opinion during this process which helped a lot. We both agreed that Adele was very professional, with a lovely helpful manner. Nothing was too much trouble for her throughout the buying process, especially when we needed to make contact for an update on the build stage of the house. We really appreciated her cooperation and quick responses as we were living out of the area so it wasnt easy to visit regularly. Her level of communication/customer service skils were excellent and she was very good at ironing out any queries we had along the way. She would always respond efficiently with the correct information we needed. We were definately impressed with our experience of dealing with Adele, and would certainly recommend anyone searching for property in the area to speak to her regarding the Gentoo development.

Had a good overall experience buying our first home here, a relatively smooth process and good aftercare. All new homes will have snagging issues, the important thing is they get fixed and all our issues have been addressed by Gentoo. The build quality is for the most part very good and we have only experienced small issues, which have all been fully resolved once reported to the home builder. At times we had to wait, but we understood this is beyond the home builders control due to availability of trades during busy times of the year. The estate itself is lovely, very friendly neighbours and a quiet location. Only 2 minutes to the WestPark nature reserve which is beautiful, great walks and opportunity to let the dogs have a run about! Only a 5 minute walk to the local shops which includes M&S food, cafe, hairdressers and a great pub!

Worst value provided. We have approached gentoo to buy new property. We liked one of the the plot of our interest and asked for an appointment so the we can reserve it . We have not been provided with an appointment because of the reason that we don't have DIP ready at that time. The next working day, we have arrived the office with DIP asking for an appointment to reserve. The sales executive said, he will call us and book an appointment. We have clearly told him that we are interested to reserve the particular plot, so if anyone comes for the same, please do let us know first. One hour after, we got a call saying the plot we are interested in is booked. When i asked what about our interest? he said "well, they had DIP and appointment, so..". And he dint even apologise for it. we are very very disappointed . The sales executive seems biased and not at all giving importance to the buyers.
