Our job was removal of an internal chimney breast and provision of support, then making good. But it was a monster job. I can only say good things about AKM Builders and the lads. From the initial meeting to job completion, communication and guidance was absolutely top notch all the way. No question was too silly. Do not underestimate the power of working relationships between architect, structural engineer and builder - as we found out. We came across a problem with an unforeseen non-load-bearing wall. No survey could have picked this up. But the coordination between Richy, the structural engineer, architect and local authority building control was so good that they had a solution designed within half an hour so that the job could continue. If I had chosen to go DIY or with unconnected professionals, I would have been in whole worlds of trouble. I would 100% recommend AKM Builders and suggest allowing them to also bring in the professionals they trust. You absolutely need those working relationships. There is a reason why AKM are used consistently in our area - because they turn out top work and the lads are grafters!

Richie and his team were excellent when building our extension. Always at the other end of the phone or on site if we had any queries and always ready to find a solution whenever there was a problem. Most people find projects like this quite stressful, especially when living on site, but Ritchie and his team made it very easy and stress free for us. We would highly recommend the services he offers and would not hesitate to work with him again!

5 Stars – Highly Recommended! I had a fantastic experience with AKM Builders on my extension project. From foundations to final finishing, everything was handled with professionalism and care. Richy created a clear and detailed schedule from the outset, which helped keep everything on track and made the whole process run smoothly. They installed a beautiful kitchen and stunning bifold doors, and nothing was ever too much trouble. All work was completed within the agreed timeframe, with great communication and attention to detail throughout. I’m absolutely delighted with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality building work. I’ll definitely use them again for any future projects. Thank you again for your outstanding work!
