This company helped me out with an insurance claim I was struggling with and to be honest did not have the time to argue with. I owe them for their patience and persistency. M&D helped me claim for damage caused by Northumbria Water and United Infrastructure and put the kitchen back to its original state in my Buy to Let house. M&D took all the hassle away from me when I needed this the most. I would definitely use this company again in the future if I was ever put in this situation again. Thank you M&D

We had a burst water pipe in the loft during the cold winter weather at our property in Stanley, County Durham. As you can see from the before and after photos an amazing restoration job by M&D Specialist Cleaning Services (this team did an awesome job in drying the property and dealing with the mould) and their sister company, M&D Building and Construction, who then carried out all the making good works. 5 star team and a 5 star rating.Top top team! For any disaster restoration issues, such as an escape of water, in the North East region then M&D Specialist Cleaning Services and Building and Construction are quite simply the only team you need.

After one of our rental houses in Cramlington, Northumberland had a house fire we used M&D Specialist Cleaning, they got everything ready for their sister company M&D Building & Construction (MDBC). The great thing about using both of them was the seamless transition from one company finishing and the next starting. Often using multiple companies causes delays. The house was a shell due to the fire and heavy smoke damage and every room needed work. A full electrical rewire, new gas CH system, total re-plastering throughout; new bathroom incl tiling; new kitchen incl tiling; new flooring, redecorated throughout, and brand new doors and windows. The work left the house in a high standard, ideal for renting out. I appreciated the hands off experience I got, usually with refurbishments it's endless questions and excuses causing delays, M&D had it handled well and they stuck to the timeline they'd given us. Using WhatsApp I got updates and could communicate directly with the builders, the walk through videos I got as various intervals meant I could see the progress and see that my choices were being implemented. The finish itself was top notch and I could tell every penny of the insurance settlement was spent on doing quality work in the house. The property was fresh and had the feel of a new build. Toward the end of the build I did go in person to talk directly with the lead builder, very friendly chap, we discussed details important to me, parliament hinges for example, I also wanted different style of doors, I got to see what could be done and was happy with the new selection. At the end of the job there wasn't any of the usual mess left for the unknown someone to pick up(me), I did pick up some snag jobs about a week after they had left, spoke with M&D they were more than happy to come sort. If you need a building team to handle your reinstatement works after a fire or any other major insurance job in Cramlington or throughout the North East region, M&D Building & Construction are who I would thoroughly recommend.

I recently experienced a sudden escape of water in my home in Houghton-Le-Spring at County Durham, and with young children, it was an incredibly stressful situation. I’ve rented a few properties across the North East over the years, so I’ve dealt with building companies before — but I can honestly say I’ve never experienced anything like the service from M&D Building and Construction North East Ltd. They responded with a same-day emergency callout and acted quickly to prevent further damage - Paul installed drying machines which made me realise the extent of damage water leaks can cause in a house. What really stood out, though, was how considerate they were throughout the entire process. I’ve lived here for years and I wasn’t made to feel less because I am the tenant. They always kept me informed in advance when access was needed, which allowed me to plan around my children. That level of communication made a huge difference. What was even better was the input I was allowed to have in choosing the new wall colours (after all I live here and this is my home!!) and also in the new flooring. It makes sense to involve the tenant doesn't it but very few people have this consideration, thankfully,this company did! It’s really good work done by the team. I love the new flooring too. M&D Building and Construction North East Ltd showed real care and thoughtfulness for me and my family. I would definitely recommend MDBC to anyone across County Durham or the North East dealing with insurance damage in their house. Thank you again to the whole team.

We were allocated M&D Building and Construction due to an insurance claim. I can honestly say Dav and his team have been absolutely amazing! Going above and beyond expectations! They kept us informed every step of the way and I would highly recommend their services. The job itself, came in well over 100k due to the enormity of damage from a broken water tank in the loft. The job involved a full strip back of floors, walls and ceilings, new kitchen and bathroom, doors, plastering, painting etc, the full works!! Comparing the house to what it looked like previously to the finish product, what Dav and his team have done is truly fabulous and I can not thank them enough!! Nothing has been a problem, from dropping and picking up keys and even tidying up the garden for my 78 year old mum - Dav has been so thoughtful and kind. I would highly recommend!!
