   Greenwood was recommended by word of mouth. Rob came and gave us a quote and talked me through everything. January came and it was all go go go from the moment the lads turn up they are non stop working they are a absolute laugh and a dream to have doing the work they tell you exactly what they plan on doing on the day and they do it. It’s been a long process but the lads have made the picture come to life and I personally couldn’t be more grateful that this company was recommended.    Sorry it's a long one. We had a refurb carried out over a year ago on a property, by others. We knew when purchasing the property that the roof was on its last legs after several issues that were pointed out to us in a home buyers report. Basically, we knew we would be replacing it in the next 5 years, and wanted to use the maximum life it had left. There were some obvious water marks around the chimney breasts and other areas that we had hoped had been repaired during that refurb. We were monitoring these and were expecting them to dry out. Unfortunately, after a year they had gotten a little worse, so we had a damp specialist carry out a full survey of the property and we were informed that they believed we had a massive rising damp problem throughout, meaning our new refurb was going to be completely destroyed by the rectification work now necessary just over a year later. I follow Rob on social media and remembered his comments about diagnosis of rising damp in one of his YouTube videos, and that it should not necessarily be the 1st course of action when finding a damp problem. So, because of this I contacted him and was able to arrange a meeting at the property on the same day. We looked at all the worst areas, and these could be traced from higher up, so after looking in the loft we could see water tracing down the front of the chimney’s and along the adjoining wall to the neighbouring property. It was now obvious we had to repair the roof first. We agreed we cannot totally rule out that we do have a rising damp issue, but that it was highly likely that the roof was the root cause of the problem. The best and most cost effective plan was to fix the roof first wait several months while the property dries out and hopefully the suspected rising damp would be gone, the devastating work and the cost required to rectify it will not now be needed, although at the front of the property it was clear that we definitely did have a rising damp issue. It was clear that the ground had been bought up above DPC in the front garden and Rob could cure this by digging down and installing an Aco drain below the DPC. So, Rob has hopefully saved me quite a bit of money. If this solves the problem, then I won’t have to have the expensive DPC work done. If I had took the first advice I had and had the DPC work done. I still would have had to replace the roof anyway. Hopefully doing it this way round solves the problem, and we don’t have to have the DPC work done as well. We went through several other areas of concern about the roof around the property and Rob then provided a detailed quote of exactly what work was needed, and we agreed in writing on the final scope before we placed an order to carry out the work. So, they have removed and replaced the whole roof including repairing and venting the chimney's and all lead flashings around those and where joining next door. As expected with a building of this age other problems were uncovered as the work progressed. These were clearly explained, with pictures and video as necessary and the best way forward agreed. The work is complete, and we are very satisfied with the finished product. We just have to wait for everything to dry now. I must also say that the guys had to deal with the worst weather possible to be replacing a roof in, they stuck at it, worked whenever possible to keep to the agreed timeline while they made sure we didn't have any rain coming in whilst the work was going on. We would highly recommend Greenwood Design & Build. I do have some more work coming up, and I will not hesitate to engage Rob and his team again.

   Definitely recommend. Really good communication from first interaction to the end of the build. Guys on site very friendly always felt comfortable with them around. No nipping off to other jobs came every day and did what they said they would do. Any queries answered . Straightforward experience. Professional company. Would use again. Already had compliments on the work they have done. Very happy. Adding to this post with an additional thank you. Following the building work carried out by Greenwood I was massively let down by the company supplying and fitting my kitchen. Needless to say Rob and his team stepped in. They are genuinely passionate about what they do and care about the outcome. What can I say I love my new space!
