Garland and Bird (G&B) were recommended to us by a friend who was pleased with the extension work on his house. Before deciding on the building partners, we assessed three building firms, all based in Essex. Having considered all aspects of their proposals, we selected G&B. Our build was not straight forward because it involved a build over agreement on top of the usual planning applications which took a while. Tony and Andy were supportive and engaged during that process which meant we could plan ahead for the build start date. The team of local tradesmen, brick layers, electricians, plumbers, joiners, kitchen fitters, decorators etc.. all worked on the project. Everyone working with G&B came across polite, hard working and tidy. Our brickwork is faultless, kitchen is beautifully fitted and the floor looks smart. The ‘invisible’ work by the electrician and the plumber was a spider web of neatly laid connections. Like most project of this size, or probably any size, it had its challenges. Some challenges, mainly due to our specific circumstances, sometimes felt harder and more complex to overcome than they should have been. However, with Tony’s guidance, communication style and friendly outlook we got through those with much more ease. Overall, as we are now 5 months since completion, we can look back and say a job well done by G&B. Thank you.

Garland and Bird have recently finished our ground floor extension, they completed it to a very high level, they helped us along the journey and helped us make decisions based on their extensive experience, the guys that work with Tony and Any are all a credit, they were all really easy to get on with, they weren’t intrusive and they were very tidy. Overall I couldn’t recommend them any higher.

Garland & Bird did a two part build for us, a loft conversion and a side extension to our kitchen. In every way, they were fantastic. The team were there every day, rain or shine and a pleasure to be around, particularly for our young sons The quality of the craftsmanship, diligence and attention to every detail was first rate We knew of the firm, as they’d undertaken projects for a number of our friends. Our experience was similarly positive We would unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone

This team deserves a review and I’m not even finished with my building work! So far the extension across the back of my house has been completed and we are now in the process of refurbishing the kitchen. Tony and Andy have been nothing but amazing so far. They spend time explaining everything before they go ahead and make sure we are all clear what needs to be done. Costing and planning is all dealt with up front so no hidden surprises .Their whole team is a huge credit to them and the standard of work is top class. Nothing is too much trouble. They are 100% trustworthy and i am more than comfortable leaving them to come and go as they need to. They always leave the site spotlessly tidy and clean. So far I am really pleased with their work and work ethic as a company. They would certainly come highly recommended.

Andy, Tony and the whole team at Garland & Bird did an excellent job with my extension. The quality of their work is really good, they are tidy and made things as painless as possible during the build. They are also trustworthy, you can leave them to do their work with the reassurance they will do a quality job that the client is very happy with. I contacted Garland and Bird after they were recommended to me, and based on my own experience of their building work I'd definitely recommend them to others without any hesitation.
