Andy has done a fantastic job on our oak porch. The workmanship is excellent, the attention to detail is second to none, and the finished porch looks as though it has always been part of the house. Professional, reliable, and highly skilled. We would highly recommend The Carpenter???s House.

We are genuinely in awe of Andy???s fine craftsmanship and dedication to custom-building this shepherds hut for us. The quality of the build is excellent, and the roof struts really make the hut for us. Andy kept true to the initial quote (only adjusting for extras we wanted such as the decking) and the work was completed ahead of schedule. We???d highly recommend anyone to the Carpenters House.

Our experience was extremely negative. We instructed The Carpenters House after relying on representations on the company???s website stating that the business specialised in ???bespoke handmade kitchens??? and promoted a high standard of craftsmanship and bespoke manufacture. During subsequent litigation, however, Carpenters House stated in their formal Defence that they are ???a carpenter??? who ???does not specialise in kitchens.??? A jointly instructed independent expert later identified numerous issues relating to design, manufacturing quality, installation and project management, including warped doors, poor alignment, appliance usability issues, poor-quality finishes, inadequate detailing and remedial works required throughout the kitchen. The expert concluded that: - some workmanship had not been carried out with reasonable care and skill; - the project suffered from failures in project management and measurement verification; - and that the Carpenters House workshop/equipment reflected ???that of a carpenter with a workshop??? rather than a specialist fitted furniture manufacturer. We also incurred ??3,716.82 in interim remedial works simply to make the kitchen functional and usable. Throughout the dispute Carpenters House has denied liability for the defects and workmanship issues despite significant issues identified within the jointly instructed expert evidence. Our experience was of a prolonged and stressful installation process involving repeated ad hoc solutions, functionality problems and significant disappointment relative to what had been represented and expected from a bespoke kitchen project. While they deny damage - all appliances were damaged during installation, including high value items and they cut into walls, skirting in a newly built home - later stating we had given permission, which refute. Based on our experience, we would strongly encourage anyone considering similar works provided by this business to: 1. Carefully verify the contractor???s specific experience and specialist expertise. 2. Ask to physically view recent completed projects and carry out independent due diligence before proceeding. 3. Ensure there are detailed design drawings, accurate measurements and a clear written contract covering scope of work, specifications, installation responsibilities, itemised manufacturing and installation costs, timelines and payment schedules. 4. Ensure any design changes, measurement amendments or cost increases are clearly documented and agreed in writing before works proceed. 5. Avoid making substantial upfront payments before works progress. 6. Document concerns/issues contemporaneously in writing. 7. If serious disputes arise, seek independent legal advice before terminating any contract and ensure there is clear documentary evidence regarding opportunities to remedy and complete works. Taking these steps may help others avoid the lengthy, stressful and financially significant legal process that we have experienced.

Andy and his team are excellent! Fantastic service and very reasonably priced! The whole team are friendly and professional and worked hard to finish what looked like a massive endeavour in just 3 days! Andy was willing to discuss all our suggestions and offered his advice throughout to achieve our desired outcome. Pete Kendall's meticulous paint job and artistic touch at the end made the whole idea come together and definitely transformed our living room. For anyone looking for quality bespoke carpentry that doesn't break the bank, Andy and Pete are highly recommended. 5/5 with a smile

Recently had Andy come over to Stockton and replace the front door and canopy frame on my house in beautifully crafted solid oak. A massive thank you to the Carpenter's House for their assistant and advice on this project, the results are outstanding... Andy and his team come more than highly recommended.
