Just finished Mark's two-day box-making course and had a great time. There were four of us on the course, and over the two days we turned a few pieces of oak into a unique box using a mix of traditional hand tools and modern machinery. Mark is really knowledgeable and gets the balance just right. He gives you enough guidance to make sure everything fits and works properly, while still leaving plenty of room to make the project your own. No two boxes looked the same by the end. I'd done a bit of woodworking before, but still learned loads of new skills and picked up plenty of tips that I'll use again. I came home with a box I'm very proud of - it looks far better than I thought I'd be able to make! The two days were busy but relaxed, with plenty of time for a cuppa and a chat. If you're looking to build your skills and come away with something you'll actually treasure, I'd definitely recommend Mark's course.

Course review - Course 1..Tools and things Thanks, Mark, for making the course excellent from start to finish. ???The whole process was seamless, starting with a quick response when booking. Mark provided excellent guidance at each step, including fantastic post-lunch advice on a range of essential topics: machines, sanding, sharpening, fixings, clamps, planning your workshop, finishing, and more. ???He also often points out shortcuts and clarifies the difference between 'social media influencer advice' and the actual requirements to run a commercial woodworking shop. This will save you a fortune ???? and stop you from wasting your time ????. ???If you're interested in woodworking and just need the impetus to start your own projects, this is ideal ????.

Absolutely unbelievable quality and craftsmanship. I had a bespoke desk, and side cabinet made in solid oak and walnut from Lakeland Cabinet makers. It's like a work of magic. It looks absolutely beautiful and the scent of the wood fills the room. Makes working a real pleasure. If you are looking for a bespoke, timeless and beautiful piece of furniture I would not hesitate for a second to recommend this company.

I do a lot of embroidery and wanted a box with compartments to keep the different-coloured silks in. Lakeland cabinetmakers sent me a CAD based on my needs, and let me come over to the workshop and choose the wood. I ended up with something both useful and beautiful, at a reasonable price.
