We have been using Teasels for ages now and really value the thoughtful, experienced advice we receive. Daniel goes above and beyond. He listens and works hard at understanding our aims, needs and wants and at the same time gently tells us if we need to rethink! His designs and making them a reality is inspiring.

Teasels Bio Designs created a garden for us at the start of 2025. They did an excellent job at creating a wide range of habitats, keeping a balance between wildlife and aesthetics and making sure everyone in the family, including the children, understood the benefits of each aspect of the garden. Despite being a fairly small garden, they made use of every bit of space with planting, bee posts and logs for invertebrates. Finally, they made perhaps unconventional or overlooked choices in standard wildlife gardening, such as adding diversity to an otherwise plain seedum roof or making sure to randomise the distribution of plants to promote a more wild scenario. These decisions would've easily been ignored if we had decided to do it ourselves, and we are very grateful for their insight. With exceptional knowledge and passion for all wildlife and friendly and inclusive service, they are certainly a top choice for making our urban spaces better for the declining biodiversity of the country, whether you are looking for a mini forest or small additions to a modern garden.

Daniel gave an excellent talk at Unit 13 artiststudios exhibition on city trees. He described the work he was doing with Cambridge City Council, the community, and a community artist to protect the trees on the verge of Barnwell Road. Daniel???s explanation of how to increase biodiversity, and create sustainability was so interesting and his engagement with the council to engage the local community and to make the project practical for the location was very good to hear. Thanks for sharing your work with us Dan.

I???ve really valued Dan???s expertise in designing our garden. He took the time to understand all of our varied needs and came up with an interesting design which brought it all together. We look forward to working together with him over the next few years as we progress with the full project. I???d definitely recommend!

Dan from Teasels initially came on board as an experienced 'Wildflower meadow' consultant to advise my clients and me (I am a designer and gardener for these clients) about upgrading a large area of lawn into native wildflower meadow. It was a pleasure to work with Dan, thanks to his extensive knowledge and experience of meadows and other ways to increase biodiversity within the garden. His enthusiasm for the project was infectious and he was able to talk through the various options so that the clients made the best decision for themselves and their garden. They were truly delighted with this native meadow, and it is all thanks to his consultation and advice! In fact they were so happy that we asked Dan back to help with designing and installing another large area of Pictorial Meadows turf. This includes many extra biodiversity elements that Dan was instrumental in suggesting and installing, all of which the clients are really delighted by. I can safely say that this has brought enormous ongoing joy to my clients. I would recommend Teasels to anyone!
