Matt at Cutting Edge Carpentry did an absolutely amazing job on our downstairs WC. It was a room in massive need of restoration and repair. It was the worst room in the house, a real mess. Matt has transformed it into something beautiful, modern and incredibly well finished. Matt was friendly, professional, incredibly hard working and communication was personal and honest. Highly recommend! ????

Matthew is amazing! He installed beautiful flooring and trim to the whole of my down stairs. The finish is 1000/10 absolutely love it. He is so talented, definitely recommend! Got to Matthew for all your home improvements!

Cellar conversion. I had an idea how I wanted the stairs to look. Matt converted my an idea into brilliant reality. Also did an outstanding job on the floor, including making the cover for the sump pump almost invisible. The quote he gave me was the price I paid. A quality job all round.

Worth every penny! Matt truly cared about the project all the way through, and has checked since completion to make sure there's no snagging issues. In March 2025 we hired Matt to create a new Bathroom and corridor which meant adding a stud wall, new plumbing and drainage. Additionally we wanted three pocket shelves within the shower. We as customers had very specific ideas and cared about the small details. Matt was brilliant at communicating with us and checking over things so we felt confident they were going to be exactly how we wanted it. In the instances where our ideas weren't realistic or were maybe over complicated Matt would do his best to meet our wishes but if it really wasn't possible Matt was very good at explaining so we could understand it from a builders perspective. We are very happy with every decision made and felt part of the process. We feel that none of the stereotypes about contractors apply to Matt. He was always on time, present every day and stuck to the delivery time and cost. He communicated what was happening so we always knew what to expect when. Matt was working in our house for 3 months, and once finished it was like saying goodbye to a friend. He was also great with our son (5yrs old) who was keen to be involved and was very curious about it all. We know no short cuts were taken. The bathroom is very well sealed and the plumbing works perfectly, the cabinetry is secure and the tiling is fantastic and looks beautiful. We had a couple of issues with the fittings (suppliers fault) Matt handled these problems very well and supported our decisions, helping us find solutions as quickly and cost effectively as possible, without compromising the design. Matt has since carried out a further larger project for us renovating our Kitchen. We were just as pleased. We intend to use Matt for every future project we have.

I???m a bit late reviewing as I started a whole load of projects with Matt and his team over a year ago, I cannot recommend them highly enough! Matt takes a lot of care to make sure his clients are 100% happy, and are consulted throughly before and during each project, working closely together, bouncing ideas off each other and between us (with Matts incredible skills) we have created such a beautiful home! I am thrilled with the outcomes and I will never go anywhere else in future for any work that I need. Most importantly we have a laugh whenever Matt???s on site and in return I always keep the coffee coming thick and fast! Don???t hesitate to ask Matt for a quote, you won???t regret it!
