The front garden ???make over??? that most satisfactorily provides for the ???low maintenance??? need I have for it. What stood as a small front garden to my stone terrace house in the near six years that I have lived there, was a mixture of overgrown bushes tall enough to block the amount of natural light entering my living room windows, a small collection of plants and flowers of unknown species, but increasingly, the dominant presence of weeds of all descriptions. As a consequence, by 2026, I had almost abandoned any hope of seeing it transformed to a front-garden that was equal to its tiled path and one that didn???t incline me to apologise for to my tidy gardened neighbours or anyone passing it and noting the contrast. In April this year, and quite by accident or co-incidence, I happened to encounter an independent electrician who I was impressed by and he went on to carry out a variety of indoor jobs that had needed doing for as long as the garden lay untouched by professional hands. Fortunately for me, his brother in law happened to run his own business, doing precisely that which I hoped would eventually transform my front garden and I had mentioned quite casually, as outstanding. He recommended, and quite properly as it turned out, Derry Coates, operating as KBK Contractors. Derry expressed an interest in taking a look at my now overgrown garden, costing the appearance I was seeking, and scheduling the work within a reasonably short timescale, having set himself an aspiration to raise his profile within the area in which I live. Meeting Derry for the first time in April this year, was reassurance enough that I could trust my sense that he could and would deliver on my ???designs???. Before asking him to proceed, I have to say Derry???s estimated work and costs, and contact with me concerning any aspect of this undertaking was very good indeed. In confirming that I wished KBK to proceed, the work was undertaken over two days in mid-June this year, by himself and a colleague. It pleases me to be able to say with genuine cause and without question, that my initial impressions or instincts about inviting Derry to carry out the hard and thorough work necessary to provide me with a front garden that met all of my needs, were born out over the time that he made this possible. It may or may not matter to some customers who require this line of work, but it is nevertheless the case that I found Derry (and his co-worker) a pleasure to engage. He showed himself to be extremely hard-working, knowledgable and experienced in carrying it out, personally considerate, well-mannered, intelligent and reliable in devoting himself to progressing each of the steps which would be completed over the estimated two days. Both men more than deserved the hot and cold drinks and good quality bacon sandwiches I promised them, based on my positive impressions and expectations. Derry suggested a different option to the pebbling I originally envisaged, but took steps to ensure that I was content to proceed with pebbling which better enhanced my tiled paths design. And finally, this all came about at a cost that I consider to be very reasonable within this line of work. Recommendations are in my judgement, earned and should only be made in online reviews if the reviewer can with integrity and genuinely conclude that he/she has been well served by the service provider, and trusts that the same standard of engagement can be expected in carrying out work for the public at large. In my experience and very recent dealings with Derry Coates personally and KBK Contractors as a concern, I do not hesitate in recommending their work and its results. I am also quite content that I bore the cost of butcher-supplied bacon generously occupying their large-size breadcakes, which were much appreciated, but deserved.

Absolutely over the moon with the work completed by KBK Contractors. We originally had a pergola built by someone else, but it just wasn???t quite right the team came in and improved it by adding a roof, making it look so much more finished and actually usable in all weather. They also transformed another part of our garden by adding beautiful Venetian fencing to an existing wall, which has completely elevated the whole look of the space. It???s amazing how a few well-thought-out changes can make such a huge difference. The overall finish and attention to detail has been brilliant, and our garden now looks so much more modern and put together. Really professional team, great workmanship, and clearly take pride in what they do. Would highly recommend KBK Contractors to anyone looking for quality garden work in Pudsey, Leeds!

Kbk contractors did my neighbours garden and I absolutely loved the work, Derry and the team came round to install a concrete base for my shed with a new fence and gate over the weekend. I would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to use them.

From start to finish Derry and his team helped me create a garden that I dreamed of. He was helpful, gave advice when needed and kept the costs down as much as he possibly could but still giving an expensive finish. Reliable, hard working and always at the end of the phone to answer my questions. I cannot recommend Derry enough. I am over the moon with my new outdoor space and can???t wait to get him back for my front.

What a lovely job, Derry, Charlie and the lads have done. Completely transformed my outdoor space, and I am so pleased with the results. Having said that, there was a point when I wondered if it would ever get finished: torrential rain delayed progress substantially and then it got really hot - far too hot to work safely, - and I think an additional driver would be of great benefit. But absolutely worth the wait. The attention to detail in this work is second to none, and the team were all friendly and personable despite the conditions. Excellent job, and well worth every penny.
