We were looking for someone locally to help remodel our garden around a year ago. We chose David after we read some reviews and then found out he had done the designs for the UK Garden Buildings centre at Barton Fields by Burton Upon Trent. David came round and spent hours discussing what we could do to our garden taking on board what we wanted from the project. He provided us with very detailed drawings and a thorough explanation of how the garden would look over the next few years and an idea of cost. We started autumn 2025 digging out old trees and shrubs and adding two new decked areas and a large 12,500 litre pool. Its difficult to see from the images but one of the decked areas floats over the pool so when you sit out enjoying a beer you are surrounded by the sound of running water. This took some designing and installing and its stunning! David advised we needed less shrubs, more flowers and deeper borders which we have been working are through spring 2026. Finally last week we got the pergola up and 235 plants into the ground. We are so please with what David designed and we know that it will only get better over the coming years. David and his assistant Rachel have been so helpful and spot on with all communication. We couldn't have asked for a better service. His fees are excellent considering the personal service you get and the number of hours he has spent with us over the last 12 months, from the initial consultation through to last week when he arrived with Rachel early one morning and laid out the 235 plants for planting. We whole heatedly recommend Up The Garden Path if you want a garden design by a professional who clearly knows what he is doing.

We highly recommend ???Up the garden path??? if you have an unusual space for a garden! Our garden is wide and narrow on 2 levels with views of fields. We met David and instantly liked his approach to designing our garden. Along with Rachel who organised and scheduled every meeting and visit and was there for any queries, make a great team. David???s hard landscaping plans made use of every corner of our garden, doubling its use and creating space. The soft planting, following a site meeting was exactly what we were looking for and now the garden is being used and loved every day while the plants settle in! We couldn???t have achieved the final result without using them. They had the ideas and plans to go to tender. We used a great, local Leicestershire contractor who David also liaised with. We are so happy with the results and how the planting is growing in to the space. We feel it was worth the expense of a designer at the beginning of the project as David had the vision and ideas for the garden that we wouldn???t have even considered. Thank you David and Rachel it???s been an absolute pleasure working with you.

This will be the third garden that David has designed for us, brought to life by landscapers Sean and Mandy, who worked tirelessly through rain and shine to transform a depressing eyesore into a garden we can be proud of. The garden is still in its infancy and will become even more beautiful as planting continues. Thank you so much!

David designed our garden last year and we are so, so pleased with the design he created for us. He is so passionate about garden design and really wants to create the best possible design for each and every person he works with. Communication with Rachel was always easy and between them they couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy. I have already recommended Up The Garden Path to so many people and I will continue to do so. Thank you for making our garden so beautiful!

Thank you to Dave & Rachel for the design and planning and to Sean and especially Mandy for all the hard work come rain (mostly rain) and shine. It really has made such a difference. I now have a garden which is a space to be in and enjoy rather than just a chore to be done. Thank you for the garden you have created for me.
