I contacted Ben to help with replacement of a rotten timber frame in a house in Dartmouth. A previous builder had removed the whole front of the house and walked off the job, so I needed a reputable builder to take on the project. From the start communication was very good and Ben visited multiple times to discuss the project. We had a complicated road closure and scaffolding to try and figure out, this was all organised for us by the team. The team turned up exactly on time and they worked at a good pace. The workmanship was high quality, the whole team were friendly and they kept the site tidy. Most importantly neighbours were kept informed around the works. Within a week the work was completed. I could not be happier with how it turned out. The attention to detail was incredible and I felt Ben really cared about the final outcome. Any issues we encountered were discussed and practical solutions suggested. There was a small overrun on costs, but this was mostly due to unexpected road closure and scaffold fees. I would definitely use Novobuild again!

Novobuild are a great team of builders, who work hard to build a good rapport with the client. It is clear that they enjoy working as a team, and work hard to get the job done, although, invariably, on a job our size, there was an overrun. Our extension was not straightforward, being an unusual shape, and requiring a large steel for the vaulted ceiling. They bring a number of different skills, and are capable of working in pairs when the other pair is working elsewhere on another job. They are good at clearing up after themselves, and always left the site tidy and safe every evening. They subcontract plumbing and electrics, and have a great rapport with them. There are always some snagging issues with any complex build, and Novobuild are always happy to come back to rectify any issues. The only bit that lets them down is their plastering. This looks good when first finished, but once decorated imperfections become visible, which, because they have a good relationship with a decorator, the decorator can put right. Where this isn't possible, Novobuild will return to undertake remedial work. As all the good work involved in the build is covered up by the plaster it was disappointing that this was not of the same high standard as the rest of the building work. Would we recommend them, yes. Would we use them again, yes, subject to using a professional plasterer.

We were recommended by our family to try Novobuild for a major deck replacement. From the initial contact by phone with Deana, to Ben visiting & assessing the job, to the estimates for phase 1 & 3 [ 2 was an unknown at the time] to our acceptance, the timing & dates of the work, how many of 'the team' would be on site & how long the project would take, everything went smoothly. We now have an excellent deck area. Our thanks to Ben, Pete, Charlie & Jason for their hard work & humour throughout, fuelled by copious amounts of coffee, biscuits & mince pies, a great team.

After recently needing some roofing work done we asked a neighbour for a personal recommendation. We were not disappointed with their choice of Novobuild and can now highly recommend using Novobuild ourselves! They are a local company with a small personable team who offer a great service, are friendly, work hard and provide swift solutions to any building issues you may need addressing. We were very impressed with the standard of workmanship and wouldn???t hesitate to use or recommend Novobuild in the future.
