Martin has serviced my oil boiler for a few years now. He has always operated in a professional but friendly manner and I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

We have a two-bedroom flat in NR1 which, when bought, had a main bathroom with bath, shower fitting, and toilet, and an en suite shower in the main bedroom. Martin Wilks (MW) fitted a new toilet seat to our en-suite toilet last summer, and I asked him at the time if he could trouble-shoot a drainage problem we had with the bath and the severe calcification of some of shower fittings in both facilities. He thought about it, and listened carefully to what my wife and I wanted, and what we didn't want, and came back promptly with a plan for replacing the shower and calcified shower box in the ensuite, remove the bath and replace it with a walk-in shower cubicle and simplify the over-complex drainage conduit from the new shower to the main drains. He advised that it might be required to remove and replace some tiling in the main bathroom, and he'd need the assistance of an expert tiler in that eventuality. He explained the reasoning for what he would do and the basis of his decision making, and presented us with a costed solution to our problem. We accepted his estimate, and contracted him to do the jobs in series: first, the en-suite shower and shower container (2-days in the week before Xmas, 2025), and the more complex follow-up bath removal, walk-in shower construction and (potential) tiling (2 weeks in February 2026). The first phase was completed on time and within budget, and the second phase - which required recruitment of an expert local tiler, Ricky Bowen - was also within time and budget. Ricky's expert advice on tiles (to me) also helped us to totally improve the final appearance of the main bathroom, much to our appreciation. Are we satisfied? Absolutely. Would we do it again? Yes. Martin and Ricky worked as a team and it was an education to me to listen to them discussing the pros and cons of various strategies to improve the poor drainage. And it is working. And if there are problems in the future, I will look again to them for a solution. Job done!

We???ve used Martin for a few years now and he is genuinely the best plumber! He???s done everything from full bathroom suite renovations, new immersion tanks to simple tap and toilet installs for us. Very professional, polite, clean and experienced. Highly recommend.

Had Martin carry out a power flush on my central heating system and replace our kitchen sink tap. The power flush results were excellent, it cleared out all the built-up sludge and debris. He then refilled the system and added inhibitor for protection. The new tap has been fitted perfectly and looks great, working flawlessly. I???m really pleased with the work overall. Martin was on time, polite, and very efficient throughout. If you???re looking for a reliable, experienced plumbing engineer, I???d definitely recommend him, you won???t regret it.
