We???ve had the pleasure of working alongside EC Joseph in Hereford, and from the very first project it has been an excellent experience. Building a strong working relationship with Andrew Joseph and his team has been a real privilege. It???s refreshing to arrive on site knowing everything has been completed to the standard we need. Whether it???s the blockwork, brickwork, or the preparation and removal work before we begin rendering, everything is always carried out professionally and with great attention to detail. That level of organisation allows us to focus on delivering the best possible finish without unnecessary delays. What really stands out is the way the team approaches every project. They tackle challenges head-on, communicate well, and always find solutions while keeping the project moving forward. Their commitment to quality and meeting deadlines makes a huge difference, not only for their clients but for every trade working alongside them. A special mention has to go to Andrew Joseph. Managing a company of this size while keeping projects organised, teams motivated, and schedules on track is no easy task, yet he does it exceptionally well. His leadership is clearly reflected throughout the business. If more companies operated with the same professionalism, organisation, and respect for other trades, the construction industry would be a much better place. I couldn???t recommend EC Joseph highly enough and look forward to working with them on many more projects.

After our home flooded in 2024, EC Joseph were appointed through our insurance to carry out the work. What initially felt quite overwhelming was quickly put at ease by Andrew and Nick. Throughout the process, Luke and Nic were fantastic ??? professional, considerate and a real credit to the team. We???re absolutely delighted with the results ??? beautiful new flooring, kitchen and bathroom. A big thank you to the whole team!

We entrusted EC Joseph Ltd with building works and paid a ??10,000 deposit in good faith. Unfortunately, our experience has been deeply disappointing and costly. The company made post-fact deductions from our deposit totalling ??2,430, for items that were never agreed, never quoted in advance, and in some cases never even completed. When challenged, Andrew Joseph repeatedly ignored correspondence, refused to engage directly, and ultimately dismissed our legitimate concerns. Examples of the disputed charges include: ??1,000 for a rubble chute that we were explicitly told would carry no charge. ??480 for removing two freestanding kitchen units (a 30-minute task suggested by his own team to clear space for their late plasterboard delivery). ??320 for so-called ???abortive time??? because we used our own electrician. His team still had plenty of other work outstanding at the time. ??95 for skimming work that was never carried out. ??50 arbitrarily added to a shaft job already quoted and partially paid. ??2,622 charged for a boiler room job that was left incomplete (no ceiling skimmed, no debris removed). At no stage were these costs agreed upon. They were simply deducted from our deposit afterwards, leaving us with no choice but to dispute them. This approach demonstrates a lack of professionalism, transparency, and fairness. Holding client deposits and then retrospectively allocating inflated or unjustified charges is not the conduct of a reputable contractor. We tried repeatedly to resolve this matter amicably, but Andrew Joseph declined. Clients considering EC Joseph Ltd should be extremely cautious. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company. When we tried to communicate our concerns, this was Andrews response.. Think twice about handing over a deposit.. " We take threats to besmirch our excellent name and reputation extremely seriously and if you or your company or anyone choose to publish anything on line or wherever we will take appropriate action against all parties of that you can be assured. After raising legitimate concerns about how our ??10,000 deposit was handled, instead of engaging constructively, we received a threatening response warning us not to ???besmirch??? their reputation and suggesting action would be taken if we shared our experience publicly. This was both surprising and disappointing, particularly as we had made repeated efforts to resolve matters privately and amicably beforehand. In their public reply, the company has also stated that they are pursuing legal action against us. To date, no such action has been received. This statement appears to be an attempt to discourage transparency rather than address the issues raised. To be absolutely clear, our review is based entirely on our direct experience. We were charged for items that were never agreed in advance, never properly quoted, and in some cases never completed. These costs were deducted retrospectively from our deposit without consent. We gave EC Joseph Ltd every opportunity to resolve this situation and return the disputed funds. They chose not to do so. We do not take leaving negative reviews lightly. However, when a contractor refuses to engage, dismisses concerns, and responds with threats rather than solutions, it leaves very little alternative. This review is simply to ensure that others are aware of our experience so they can make an informed decision before entering into any agreement with E.C.Joseph.

My wife and I engaged E C Joseph & Sons Ltd to convert our integral suburban garage (with up-and-over door, breeze block walls etc) into a fully decorated utility room with a uPCV front door and window, plasterboarded walls and ceiling, new pipework, new electrics, and painted throughout. We are extremely impressed with the quality of the delivered product and the work done. Everything went smoothly to plan with no nasty surprises at all. Everyone from the Company was courteous, accommodating, informative and professional in all their dealings with us, and the standard and quality of their workmanship is truly excellent. I thoroughly recommend E C Joseph to anyone needing similar work to be done.
